OK, last time I'll talk about the American this month! Another 40th Anniversary dinner -- this one with Dave Crum of Heirlooms Farms and Arrowhead Meats providing THE most succulent beef, pork, ham, and all things carnivorish. This was about the only "composed" plate last night -- chilled lobster with coral vinaigrette, coconut milk, whipped avocado, the thinnest sliced turnips from Crum's Heirlooms you've ever imagined.
I'm not even going to tell you about the rest of the meal, except to say that was the best ever charcuterie board, dry age rib carved off the bone, and dessert I've had for a l o n g time, if ever. Family style was a hoot with seven of us trying sometimes to be polite, sometimes not. The homemade ice cream that nephews Bryce scooped and the slices of elderflower savarin (cake) that Braden served to which brother Rick added the compressed strawberries and I the grilled pineapple may not have been that pretty (hence, no pictures), but wow, what a finish.
I don't know who's up next month for the 40th celebration, but no matter who or when, try to go.
