Our First Ride is . . .
We had gotten off at the City Market, walked two very short blocks to Le Fou Frog where we had delicious, delicious mussels. Pomme frites, charcuterie plate, and I had to try to profiteroles which were filled with very large scoops of ice cream, the choux pastry then drizzled with chocolate sauce and almonds. I wrote about this in my last blog, Chris' Corner, for the Kansas City Restaurant Guide. All delish! It was a rainy night but so easy to walk. (I'm in NYC right now and wondering why so many of us think walking is something we just don't do that much.) Anyway, although we were full, we persevered. I'd not been to Il Llazarone which is on Delaware so rather than lose this opportunity, on we went. I liked the crust a lot. Then, back to the streetcar -- again, fast, clean, and easy -- and we then walked to the Belfry, Celina Tio's really pleasant hangout with about a million beers and even more whiskeys. We had deep fried broccoli, and only one of the million beers and whiskeys. And then, yes, we were, finally done.
